Plurk to Twitter
So plurk is one of the numerous microblogging platforms everybody is raving about. The only problem is the majority of folk are on twitter. There are a few services springing up to syndicate your plurk feed to twitter but one of them : twitterfeed (which is great at taking any rss feed and inputting it into twitter) leaves the feed untouched. It means you end up with a feed in twitter that looks like “willwade says..” or “willwade feels.. ” or whatever.. which gets a bit tedious when looking at it in twitter.
The answer is to use my yahoo pipe plurk to twitterfeed.
1. Go to twitterfeed and login.
2. Create a new feed for your twitter account. And use the following URL:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=ZFDW8PZs3RG0XKSNrbQIDg&_render=rss&username=USERNAME
replace USERNAME with your plurk username. e.g. mine is willwade so my feed url looks like
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=ZFDW8PZs3RG0XKSNrbQIDg&_render=rss&username=willwade
Other settings that you need to be aware of: Set include “description only” as I only change the description - not the title. See the image below for more info. Other services to be aware of are feedtwitter but this invite only at present
