Yeah Go team GB! What I don’t get is this: Every four years the Olympics come round and everybody I know can’t get enough of Yngling, Various forms of Rowing that you didn’t know existed, a 1000 ways of riding a bike and Gymnastics that we all thought was a junior school event only (where is the monkey bars event in the Olympics though?). Viewing figures surely go through the roof. So why is it that the Beeb decide to show less and less of these sports throughout the year? This is what Grandstand used to be good for. Now, all we get is ruddy football. Who cares? I can understand why the beeb dropped grandstand - they couldnt afford the football rights. Surely they can afford the rights to a few other, quite frankly, far more interesting sports. To get this country better at more sports and thus more gold for 2012 we need enthusiasm from the bottom - namely our bottoms watching the telly.
